All Americans uses big first inning to beat ABD (CA), 11-5

A six-run explosion in the first inning lifted All Americans to an 11-5 win in seven innings over ABD at Peoria Sports Complex on Saturday.

All Americans scored in the first on an RBI single by DaVonn Griffin, a groundout by Grant Keller, a steal of home by Griffin, a two-run double by James Angel, and an error.

Angel racked up three RBIs on three hits for All Americans.

Blake James recorded the win for All Americans. He allowed four runs over 4 2/3 innings. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered five hits.

All Americans piled on two more runs in the top of the third. Jarett Faunce started the inning with a double, bringing home Colin Bergh. That was followed up by Angel’s single, plating Faunce.

All Americans pushed one run across in each of the fourth, fifth and seventh. In the fourth, All Americans scored on a passed ball, bringing home Joseph Hall.

All Americans pushed one more run across in the top of the seventh when walked.
