Crab University tops Minnesota Blizzard Blue in back-and-forth affair, 6-5

Crab University and Minnesota Blizzard Blue volleyed the lead five times on Saturday, but Crab University came out on top for a 6-5 win on Saturday at Youngker HS.

Crab University took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. Crab University went up for good on an RBI single by Reagan Mills off Barron Holtz, bringing home Reginald Zayas.

Trendon Craig racked up two RBIs on one hit for Crab University. He doubled in the first inning.

Despite the loss, Minnesota Blizzard Blue’s Tommy Springer dominated Crab University’s batters, giving up three runs and striking out nine.

Five relief pitchers finished off the game for Crab University. Darius Gilliam faced nine batters in relief, while Zayas managed to record one out to aid the victory.

The bottom of the first saw Crab University take an early lead, 3-0. A single by Gerald Buchanan, scoring Evan Martin started the inning off. Crab University pushed more runs across when Ryan and Buchanan scored on a two-run double by Craig.

After posting one run in the second, Minnesota Blizzard Blue again scored one in the fourth. In the second, Minnesota Blizzard Blue scored on an RBI single by Owen Granger, plating Teddy Tauer.
