An impressive two-way performance from Kian Manmano led Team Colorado Bard to a 9-6 win Sunday over Crab University Black, as Manmano came up huge at the dish and on the mound.
Manmano led Team Colorado Bard’s offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning.
Crab University Black couldn’t get anything going as long as Manmano was pitching. Crab University Black managed just one hit off of the Team Colorado Bard’s pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his three innings of work.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.
Team Colorado Bard pulled out the win thanks to a strong third inning. A sacrifice fly by Jack Lisowy scored Samson Lennarson and gave Team Colorado Bard the lead for good.
Jack Silder racked up three RBIs on two hits for Crab University Black. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Team Colorado Bard won even though Lisowy didn’t have his pitches working. Lisowy was taken out after one inning. Lisowy surrendered two hits and four runs.
The top of the first saw Team Colorado Bard take an early lead, 1-0. Reese Lansville singled to ignite Team Colorado Bard’s offense, before Murphy Gienger doubled, scoring Lansville.
It didn’t take long for Crab University Black to answer as it scored four runs of its own in the first. Crab University Black scored on a walk by Jack Ryan, a groundout by Chase Crosby, and a two-run single by Jack Silder.
Team Colorado Bard brought home one run in the second inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the second, Team Colorado Bard scored on an RBI double by Noah Befus, plating Lisowy.
Team Colorado Bard went up for the duration of the game after the third inning. Additional runs came from a two-run error and three singles.
One run in the bottom of the fourth helped Crab University Black close its deficit to 8-5. A passed ball fueled Crab University Black’s comeback. But, Manmano got Noel Aristy to to end the inning.
One run in the bottom of the sixth helped Crab University Black close its deficit to 9-6. An RBI double by Jack Silder gave Crab University Black life. Gienger got the last out, as Crab University Black’s Luke Pryor struck out.
