The Marlins Scout Team defeat CrabFest All Americans 7-6

Sunday wasn’t a banner performance for Ricky Silguero, but the Marlins Scout Team still managed to pull out a 7-6 victory over CrabFest All Americans in six innings at Goodyear Ballpark-Reds and Indians Spring Training.

Silguero allowed five in 2 2/3, but the bullpen gave up one run and the offense banged out 13 to pick up the slack and secure the win for the Marlins Scout Team.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to 10 lead changes in the game.

The Marlins Scout Team finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. The Marlins Scout Team went up for good on an RBI single by Lloyd Schipper off Bradley Thaxton, bringing home Pilkington.

Duncan McKinnon racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Marlins Scout Team. He singled in the first and fourth innings and tripled in the sixth inning.

CrabFest All Americans jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

After a quick strike from the Marlins Scout Team, CrabFest All Americans responded with two runs in the second. CrabFest All Americans scored on an error and an error.

The Marlins Scout Team tied the game in the third on an RBI single byTristan Thomas that scored Nico Hoerner.

CrabFest All Americans survived the Marlins Scout Team’s surge and put up two runs of its own in the third. CrabFest All Americans scored on a triple by Thaxton and an RBI double by Nicholas Gardner.
